Why is it a good idea to book hotel rooms in advance?
A. Price: As the date of your arrival approaches – the price goes up. B. Value: There is no doubt you can find a hotel to stay in, even if you arrive without a reservation. The main question is where? How much will it cost? Will you be getting the best value? The best hotels are the ones that give you the highest value for your money, and these can sell out months in advance.C. Time: Every day in your holiday is valuable. If you arrive without prior reservation you may need to travel around different possible options for hotels – a process that will rob you of your precious time – time better spent with your friends or family by the pool, eating delicious food, or relaxing by the beach. D. Cancellation: Flexibility on cancellations or date changes at no cost, even when close to the arrival date.
Chiang Mai Province is located in the Northern region of Thailand, around 700 km from Bangkok. The main city is now a well-known travel destination, seated in a verdigris valley on the banks of the Ping River, and surrounding the Old City – which has been restored to preserve its historical charms. Chiang Mai was previously the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, only becoming incorporated into Thailand in the 1930s. With its rural mountains, forests, diverse cultures, and historical landmarks and temples, the city has become a very popular tourist destination for both domestic and international tourists. Chiang Mai – being both popular and sizeable – has a variety of around 1500 hotels and accommodations, with options for stays at more budget-friendly hotels and guest houses, and more upscale establishments.
The most visited site is the 14th century Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, located within the natural beauty of Doi Suthep National Park. This most revered temple is crowned by a majestic glistening gold plated 24-metre towering monument that dazzles onlookers. The drive to the site is scattered with beautiful waterfalls and tropical rainforest, making it a fantastic excursion.
Whether you’re travelling to explore Thailand’s culture, or looking for relaxation, the Villa Klang Wiang Hotel is a great choice of accommodation in Chiang Mai.
The Villa Klang Wiang Hotel offers guests air-conditioned rooms, free wifi, and a swimming pool to ensure their stay is as comfortable as possible. It also offers a refuge from the chaotic rush hour at the city, as well as easy access to nearby day trips through the famous Chedi Luang Temple and other cultural gems in Chiang Mai’s old town.
Travellers looking for luxury hotels with helpful staff need not look further. The Four Seasons Resort: Chiang Mai Hotel emphasizes providing quality service and stunning views of terraced rice fields and misty mountains beyond the Chiang Mai.
The resort also offers a great location for other travelers hoping to discover the glittering heritage sites and colourful life of the people in the old town.
The Four Seasons Resort offers free parking, access to an outdoor swimming pool, free wifi, a fitness center, a shared lounge, and children activities.
Located in Chiang Mai, this four-star hotel is one of few luxury hotels in the area that offers good food and great value. This famous Chiang Mai hotel offers travellers friendly staff, excellent service, and essential amenities to invigorate visitors. Guests may take a dip in the hotel’s impeccable outdoor pool, tour the on-site garden, or relax in the hotel’s meditation cave/spa.
While the hotel does not have a fitness center, it does feature a game room where visitors can play a game of chess with other travellers.
Situated in the city centre, the Villa Thai Orchid Hotel offers Chiang Mai travellers access to a deluxe room with blackout curtains, wonderful staff and a good breakfast without breaking the bank. It’s also incredibly close to Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chiang Man, and the Sunday Market, making it the best location for travellers wanting to start their day early and end it late.
Salee Boutique Hotel is an extremely beautiful hotel situated just a walking distance away from the prestigious Chiang Mai University. This trendy hotel is popular among travellers as it has a very good location. It also offers guests room service, free wifi access, and perfectly maintained air-conditioned rooms at a decent price.
The Arch39 Art and Craft Hotel is one of the most unique hotels in Chiang Mai. This lovely place offers both private and dormitory rooms for guests looking for accommodation with air conditioning at a great location in the Old City.
The Arch39 Hotel offers families and solo travellers extremely clean rooms with comfortable beds. Many of the hotel rooms also feature slides and rock-climbing walls, making it an amazing place for families with active young children.
The accommodation is varied across distinct areas and at its heart is the beautiful fortified Old City with its surrounding moat and the bustling Chiang Mai Night Market. Then there’s the quaint Riverside full of old-world charm situated on the banks of the Mae Ping River and the modern Nimmanhaemin Road, laden with boutiques, art galleries and great dining choices.
Getting around town is best with tuk-tuks or songthaews, although the former will take visitors directly to their destinations at a comparatively higher price. Otherwise, you might want to rent a car. Going beyond the city is easier if you travel by train via Chiang Mai Station. As for flights in and out, the major airport in the area is Chiang Mai Airport (CNX). The most popular time to visit is October to April during the dry season when there are warm days but cool pleasant evenings.
