Why is it a good idea to book hotel rooms in advance?
A. Price – As the date of accommodation approaches – the price goes up.
B. Value: No doubt you can find hotels to stay in, even at the peak of the season even if you arrive without a reservation. Eventually, you will find where to sleep. The main question is what will be the location, the price and what value will you get? It is known that the best hotels, the ones that give you the highest value for your money – are perceived months in advance.
C. Time. Every day in your holiday costs. If you arrive at the destination without prior reservation you will be required to start hopping around (with luggage and bags) between possible hotels – a process that will rob you of precious time, time better spent by the ocean, In the pool, massage or any other activity.
D. Possibility of cancellation/change at no cost until close to the date of arrival.
Located in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui is a southern island popular for those seeking relaxing luxury escapes in beachfront resorts with its palm-lined calm white sandy beaches and clear waters. Part of Surat Thani province, Koh Samui’s strategic location makes it a gateway to an archipelago of tropical dreamlands in the Ang Thong National Park including the legendary Phi Phi islands. It offers some good snorkeling, waterfalls, temples, and shrines along with a full range of dining and shopping. You will be spoilt for choice on accommodation in Koh Samui. Whether it be beachfront or your own secluded private beach, adults-only beach resorts, eco-friendly cottages, and glamping, kid-friendly beach resorts, detox and wellness spas, cozy boutique hotels, contemporary minimalist-designed decor, traditional Thai-style huts, swim-up beach bars, and much more.

Chaweng Beach is the busiest area with lots of dining options, bars and a lively party scene. There is a full range of beach resorts and other types of accommodation in this area for those who want to stay close to the action. Technically this area is not the city centre of Koh Samui, but having those establishments located therein, it is considered the hub for tourists and visitors.
Nearby Lamai is a less crowded version of Chaweng, with a budget to upmarket stays.
Choeng Mon is a laid-back, quiet beach, with no traffic or party scene. It’s situated on a series of bays on the northeastern tip of the island, with a few three to five-star resorts catering to an older crowd.
Bophut is a fishing village with more sophisticated dining options but the beach is very average. It has a more authentic Thai atmosphere to it being an active local fishing community. There are several luxurious resorts around the area.
Its neighbor Big Buddha beach has a similar beach to Bophut and is home to one of the island’s main attractions, the Big Buddha. You can find hotels, pool villas, resorts, and serviced apartments near the beach.

Among its unique features is the ocean swimming pool, the only one-of-its-kind swimming pool in Koh Samui hotel accommodations. This is a separate feature from its infinity swimming pool at the beachfront. Like other big hotels, the Ritz Carlton Koh Samui provides complimentary internet access by wifi to its guests. It has no valet parking but a complimentary parking space is provided for guests. There is a free cancellation policy but it doesn’t apply on festival dates. With its own village spa featuring 8 treatment suites, 3 massage pavilions, a yoga pavilion, and a lap pool, it is one beach resort and Koh Samui resort spa really worth staying at.
Chaweng Garden Beach Resort. Chaweng Garden Beach Resort is a beach resort near the city centre that has been owned by one local family for three generations.
