COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Beginning Nov. 1, all foreign tourists—including medical tourists—arriving in Thailand must meet several conditions to gain a permit to enter the country.

According to the Bureau of Risk Communication and Health Behavior Promotion of the Disease Control Department, the foreign tourist must:

• Arrive by air from countries deemed “low risk” by the Thai Public Health Ministry
• Show proof of vaccination (Must have received two doses of a recognized COVID-19 vaccine)
• Show proof of a negative RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to the arrival in Thailand
• Have a minimum of US$50,000 health insurance coverage
• Show proof of hotel bookings in Thailand
• Download and install a specified app upon arrival at the airport
• Undergo an RT-PCR test within 24 hours of arrival
• Have negative test results before travelling domestically

Countries deemed “low risk” by the Thai government as of Oct. 27 include Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, the US and Hong Kong.
